We can describe drying logs, extraction rates, and mold containment protocols all day. But a homeowner standing in a soaked living room at 2 a.m. wants to see one thing: proof that someone has pulled a house back from the edge before. These projects show what our crews actually walked into in Yonkers, and what the same rooms looked like when we left. Water out, home dry, and a crew you can trust inside the house.

Burst Supply Line in a Park Hill Kitchen
Before
AfterA braided stainless supply line under the kitchen sink let go around 3 a.m. and ran for roughly five hours before the homeowner came down. By the time we arrived, water had wicked into the oak cabinetry, saturated the subfloor, and soaked through to the finished basement ceiling below. We extracted just under 40 gallons, pulled the toe-kicks and baseboards to open the wall cavities, then set up a Dri-Eaz containment chamber with Phoenix axial fans and an Injectidry hardwood floor mat system to dry the oak in place. The floor didn’t need to come out, and the kitchen was back to normal in nine days.
Sewage Backup in a Downtown Yonkers Cellar
Before
AfterHeavy rain overwhelmed a combined storm and sanitary line near Getty Square, and the floor drain in a 1920s rowhouse basement reversed. Raw sewage covered about 700 square feet of poured concrete, and the smell carried through the whole house. This was a Category 3 job. Our crew set containment, removed the saturated drywall and fiberglass insulation two feet up all around, then pressure-washed and applied an EPA-registered biocide to every framing surface. We ran HEPA air scrubbers from XPOWER for five days while the concrete dried, then rebuilt the walls. The homeowner’s insurance adjuster accepted our photo log and moisture map without argument.
Roof Leak Through a Third-Floor Ceiling in Nepera Park
Before
AfterWind-driven rain found a failed cricket flashing where the roof met a dormer, and water traveled down inside the wall to a third-floor bedroom ceiling. Plaster and lath sagged in a four-by-six-foot patch directly over the bed. We drilled small drain holes to release the pooled water safely, removed the unsalvageable plaster, and left the lath to dry under controlled airflow rather than ripping the entire ceiling. Psychrometric readings, which measure the actual moisture in the air and materials, told us when the framing was genuinely dry, not just dry on the surface. A plaster patching crew opened the room back up the following week.
Mold Colony Behind a Dunwoodie Bathroom Vanity

A slow toilet supply leak had been feeding mold growth behind a second-floor bathroom vanity for months before the homeowner noticed the baseboard separating. The colony ran about eighteen square feet across the drywall and into the vanity’s particleboard toe-kick. We set up full containment with negative air, removed the affected drywall and the vanity, bagged everything inside the containment zone, and HEPA-vacuumed the studs. The post-remediation air sample came back clear. We installed new drywall, painted, hung a new vanity, and the bathroom looks better than before the leak.
Frozen Pipes Flood a Colden Avenue First Floor

A January cold snap froze a copper supply pipe in an uninsulated exterior wall cavity on Colden Avenue. When the pipe thawed, it split along two feet and flooded the living room, hallway, and a coat closet. The homeowner called on a Sunday morning, and a live person answered at our Yonkers dispatch. We extracted what we could, opened the baseboard areas, and installed B-Air air movers inside the wall cavities while running a Phoenix LGR dehumidifier in the hall. The hardwood floor cupped slightly, so we left Injectidry mats in place until the boards relaxed back flat. We then repaired the pipe, re-insulated the cavity, and patched everything to match.
Water Heater Blowout in a Ludlow Garage Conversion

A 50-gallon water heater in a Ludlow garage conversion rusted through at the tank seam and dumped its entire volume onto carpet and drywall. The carpet pad was a total loss, but the drywall had only been wet for a couple of hours. We extracted, pulled the carpet and pad, and got air moving within three hours of the call. The drywall dried in place without needing to be cut open, which saved the homeowner a full repaint. We replaced the padding, re-stretched the existing carpet, and left the garage dry and warm. The homeowner told us the room smelled better after we finished than before the leak.
